<>Health officials have issued a warning to visitors of a potential measles exposure at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park on March 3. The alert was issued after a visitor who had traveled to the park on that date was confirmed to have contracted the measles virus.

<>According to park officials, the visitor was present at the following locations within the park:

  • Kilauea Visitor Center
  • Thurston Lava Tube
  • Kilauea Overlook

<>The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed that the visitor had traveled to the park on March 3 and had been in close proximity to other visitors. As a result, health officials are urging anyone who visited the park on that date to take precautions to prevent the spread of the measles virus.
