The Private Pharmacy Clinic in Birmingham has been temporarily halted from supplying prescription-only medicines and medical devices while UK regulators investigate the clinic’s involvement in supplying fake Mounjaro pens to patients. The investigation was sparked by reports of faulty Mounjaro (tirzepatide) KwikPen 15 mg solution pens, which were identified due to issues with the dose knob coming off while in use.

<3>Counterfeit Pens Found, No Reports of Patient Harm

To date, five counterfeit pens have been discovered, and fortunately, there have been no reported cases of patient harm. However, the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has warned that the substance in the pens may be tirzepatide, but the quality and safety standards of the legitimate pens are not met, making them unsafe for use.
