Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Graeme’s early life took him to Cardiff, where he would later qualify in medicine from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1988. His journey as a doctor would take him to various roles, including serving as team doctor for both Crosskeys RFC and Newport Gwent Dragons, where he would demonstrate his unwavering loyalty to the Scottish rugby team.
Graeme’s early years as a GP in Risca, Sirhowy Valley, coincided with a tumultuous period in South Wales, marked by the miners’ strike and deindustrialisation. The health and social consequences of these events were stark, and Graeme’s work as a GP would take on a new dimension as he
