This incident occurred in the wake of the Hamas attack on Israel in October 2023.

The comment in question was made on a GPs’ WhatsApp forum, the Highgate Self Directed Learning Group. Dr Cohen’s statement, “typical of you Muslims to gaslight,” was directed at a Muslim colleague, Dr A. Dr A had invited others to consider signing a petition to remove the Israeli flag from the Department of Health and Social Care building in London. The petition was in response to the bombardments of hospitals during the conflict.
