<2> PFAS Found in Most Americans Linked to Rapid Biological Aging

<3> The Hidden Dangers of “Forever Chemicals”

<4> PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals,” have become ubiquitous in modern life, contaminating everything from nonstick pans to food packaging. These synthetic compounds have been linked to a range of health problems, including cancer, reproductive issues, and thyroid disease. Now, new research suggests that some PFAS may be speeding up the aging process itself.

<5> A nationally representative U.S. study published in the journal Nature found that two lesser-known PFAS compounds, PFNA and PFOSA, were present in 95% of participants. These compounds were strongly linked to faster biological aging in men aged 50 to 64.

<6> The study, which was conducted by researchers at the World Health Organization and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), used data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) to examine the relationship between PFAS
